SEED’s 5 Keys to Entrepreneurial Thinking

We’ve entered an EntreprenERA, where entrepreneurial thinking is your key to the world of work.

Whether you start your own business or add value to an existing one, graduates with entrepreneurial skills are more employable.

With SEED, you will

  • develop your inner entrepreneur by gaining valuable business skills
  • improve your employability skills (i.e. communication, teamwork, problem solving)
  • collaborate with like-minded individuals to expand your professional network
  • engage and learn from experienced peers through our mentorship programme

Our goal

The aims of the national University Capacity Development Programme feed directly into SEED’s mission to develop student entrepreneurs and enhance student employability.

Entrepreneurship at Nelson Mandela University

Nelson Mandela University has a responsibility to prepare you for the world of work – the one that exists and the one you create.

In the South African context, tertiary education and entrepreneurship are complementary. Employers require credible work experience from job seekers and students need employment to gain this experience, they must be equipped to start small businesses or explore skills development opportunities.

Our Madibaz Youth Entrepreneurship Lab

Is an enabling platform for developing student entrepreneurs through the transferral of knowledge, skills and the attitude they need to become job creators. The Lab also allows students to explore and cultivate an entrepreneurial mindset.
